Propaganda and advertising (blog 6)

The advertisement I chose to analyze was the Carls Jr Super Bowl ad in 2015. This advertisement featured the model Charlotte McKinney nearly naked taking a giant bite into one of Carls Jr’s classic burgers. This advertisement used the propaganda technique “beautiful people.” By using a very attractive female model one is drawn to the advertisement just because of the woman. The ad also used the technique “exaggeration.” It greatly exaggerated the burger and how one would take a bite wearing barely any clothes. The advertisement has stirred up a lot of controversy but I believe this is what the company wanted. It gave them exposure and attention just like an ad aims to do.
