Week 7: Propaganda in Advertising

Coke Vs. Pepsi

By Sergio Cano

I feel like Coke and Pepsi are always posting advertisements about name calling and sometimes glittering generalities. These two brands are always fighting to be on top. They come up with ads that are trying to convince the consumer that Pepsi or Coke is better even though they both share the same kind of taste. Like Coke shows ads where they are the dominate and Pepsi is the small and weak brand. As for Pepsi it is vice versa. They do similar ads that are just pointless when they tatse the same it is just how consumers take it and which they choose to buy. For the glittering generalities Coke says things like, “Things go better with Coke” and for Pepsi they don’t really have slogans but they show acts of Pepsi cans beating up Coke cans.
